Laurens TAN, Dan Sheng (Birth) from the Depth of Ease Series, Version 2, 2011

Tally Beck Contemporary (New York, Bangkok) is pleased to announce its participation in ART ASIA Miami 2011 from November 30th to December 4th in Midtown Miami.

Artists represented at the booth include:

island6, animated LED work from the Shanghai-based Chinese collective.

Be Pattanopas, ink on paper drawings by the Bangkok-based Thai artist and architecture professor.

Songwoot Kaewvisit, award-winning painter from Northeastern Thailand.

George Tun Sein, New York-based Burmese abstract painter.

Chen Ping, Chinese painter of monumental oils.

Tally Beck Contemporary will also be part of ART ASIA Presents, a curated special projects section featuring artist Laurens Tan.

Happy Toy is Tan’s multimedia installation concentrating on themes of China’s linguistics, technology and culture of fabrication. Amalgamating sculpture, architectural and animated space, music, graphics, film and industrial design, Tan’s artwork explores the dynamism of contemporary urban China in his language of playful, witty semiotics. Tan focuses on the ambiguities in the interpretation of Chinese characters by analyzing the transformation of language and meaning through his text-based installations.
